If you saved the tiefling Arabella from the Druid Grove in Act 1, the opportunity to help her out again comes up in Act 2. Here’s our guide on how to find Arabella’s parents in Baldur’s Gate 3.
When you run into Arabella for the second time in BG3, you’ll find out that her parents, Komira and Locke, are now missing, and they were last seen in Shadow Cursed Lands. Arabella will inform you about the situation and ask for your help in front of the House of Healing. If you choose to help her, you’ll venture into the unknown to find out what happened to her parents.
Before heading into the depths of the Shadow Cursed Lands in BG3, make sure to find Balthazar’s Moon Lanterns or get a torch.
How to start Arabella’s Act Two quest in BG3
Travel toward the eastern side of the House of Healing (west of the Mason’s Guild) and find Arabella standing in front of the gates. (X: -153, Y: 10.) Speak with Arabella and choose the dialogue option that asks about her parents. Choose to help Arabella to start a quest, and you can ask her to wait at the Last Light Inn or at the camp. The quest will only begin once Arabella has gone to camp.
How to find Arabella’s parents in BG3
You won’t need to travel for that long to find Arabella’s parents, Locke and Komira. You can find them in the east wing of the House of Healing, which is immediately west of Arabella’s location. Here is a step-by-step guide to finding Arabella’s parents:
- Go to the House of Healing, which will be right next to where you spoke with Arabella.
- Make your way to the front side of the building.
- As you get closer to the location, you’ll notice a merchant icon of Sister Lidwin.
- Close to Sister Lidwin, you’ll see the bodies of Arabella’s parents, both deceased.

Below is Sister Lidwin’s location on the map, and Arabella’s parents will be lying next to her:
How to deal with Sister Lidwin in BG3
At this point in the quest, you’ll have several dialogue options with Sister Lidwin available. You can ask her questions to gain more information, but eventually, you’ll have to decide how you want to wrap the encounter up.
Depending on how you want to handle things, you can either insist that the Sister’s patients (the corpses of Arabella’s parents) are dead, or you can convince her that she’s successfully treated them and that they’re now comfortably sleeping. Either way, you’ll need to succeed on a roll to make it happen.
You’ll also have the option to kill Sister Lidwin, but it will mean you will lose access to a poison vendor who sells Purple Worm Poison, one of the strongest variants in the game.
While you’re in this area, you can also use the Speak with the Dead spell to talk with Arabella’s father one last time. This will present the information that Zevlor abandoned them, which is how they were found and later killed by the Nurses.
Should you kill Sister Lidwin?
Do not kill Sister Lidwin, as you will be throwing away some of the most powerful poisons in the game. Losing her as a vendor would be detrimental.
- If you want to conclude Arabella’s quest while keeping her as a vendor, you should choose the persuasion option that convinces her that the corpses are actually just sleeping and that she’s successfully treated them.
- If you tell Sister Lidwin that Arabella’s parents are dead, Sister Lidwin will become hostile towards you. She will also be hostile if you start combat with the Thorm necromancer that rules over the House of Healing, so be careful.
Return to Arabella
After completing the dialogue options with Sister Lidwin, return to Arabella. Her location will depend on where you decided to send her, be it the inn or your camp.
Should you tell Arabella about her parents?
To progress through the quest, you need to tell Arabella the truth about her parents.
Though the news will shock and upset her, the reality will set in after your party takes a long rest. When you return to her whereabouts, you’ll find her talking to Withers, and you’ll have the option to finish the quest. The main reward for helping find Arabella’s parents is the Shadowblade Ring. It is a magic item that lets the wearer cast the second-level spell Shadow Blade.
In the later stages of the game, Arabella will give you a unique skill: Arabella’s Shadow Entangle. This particular version of Entangle is tailored to ensnare only undead and shadow creatures, making it particularly advantageous in this area.
It’s worth noting that party members aren’t classified as either undead or shadow creatures. The best part? Using this skill doesn’t take up a spell slot.
Note that this quest can be a bit buggy. I had to take multiple long rests before Arabella was willing to talk to me again, and I never got a scene of her leaving, just a conversation with Withers after the fact.
