How to Toast another player in MultiVersus

Make sure good players know you appreciate them!

Whether playing alone, with friends, or on a stack with some random mook, MultiVersus encourages you to enjoy its combat and incentivizes you to tip your opponent with Toast. But how do you Toast another player, and what does it do?

Toast is an item you receive by playing MultiVersus and acts as a way to commend other players while actually getting something out of it beyond some extra recognition. Toasting someone is almost always worth doing, even if you didn’t enjoy a match, just because you get a nice bonus.

Once you finish a match in MultiVersus, you can Toast a player on the results screen. You can give it out to your allies or opponents, and every time you do, the player receiving Toast gets a small bonus—in the form of five Fighter Currency

This is a bit of a downgrade from the 25 Gold each player got when Toasted in the open beta, though MultiVersus completely reworked its currency system for the full launch to make things easier to understand.

To Toast a player, wait until you complete whatever match you are playing, whether online or in a custom lobby. From there, the option appears on the result screen under each player’s character banner. You can Toast every player other than yourself in the lobby, regardless of whether they are your teammates.

Toast is still a limited resource, which you can see on the top right of your screen when you finish a match and decline a rematch. You can earn more Toast by playing MultiVersus, as it looks like you get five as a daily login bonus, though it doesn’t seem to show that anywhere. I have also yet to see Toast available in the same spots as the beta, like on the battle pass or as a shop bundle.
