The world of Enshrouded is more than just meadows and forests. There are multiple different biomes players can venture to for new resources, various animals, and rare weapons and armor. You’ll need to know how to get to each one, though, since it won’t automatically appear on your map before you’ve visited.
All biomes in Enshrouded
After the Souls of the Frozen Frontier update, there are currently seven biomes in Enshrouded. You can’t just walk to all of these areas, though. To reach most of these and unlock their fast travel points, you need to increase your Flame level (so you can withstand the Shrouded areas surrounding them). An upgraded glider will definitely help you in your mission, as well as the Double Jump perk located on the Survivor branch of the game’s skill tree.
Visiting every biome and harvesting their unique resources is vital to anyone who wishes to unlock new crafting recipes. If you’re wanting to catch and tame animals for your very own farm, you’ll need to visit the different regions around the map to find each one. Similarly, the game’s many survivors, NPCs that craft items and inhabit your bases, are also scattered around the map, with at least one in every biome.
Here’s a brief bio about each biome, when it was released (if added after the game’s launch), and how to get to them.
Biome name | Location | Description |
---|---|---|
Springlands | You spawn here | Mostly filled with meadows, low-level enemies, and a great place to start your adventure |
Low Meadows | East of Springlands | Similar to the Springlands but with more shrouded areas. The enemies are around the same levels |
Revelwood | North of Springlands | A forest area with stronger enemies (around level 15). Great place to get materials and level up a bit. |
Nomad Highlands | The northeast edge of the map | A near-endgame area is similar to a savannah grassland. The enemies here are around level 20, so be prepared for a fight |
Kindlewastes | The southeast edge of the map | The endgame area. The enemies here are max level and will be difficult to kill. This deserted area is mostly covered in sand and stone. |
Blackmire | The northwest edge of the map | The area introduced in the Melodies of the Mire update. This is an elven-like forest area with giant trees, swmaps, and lush flora. The enemies are around level 15, and it’s generally a joy to explore. You can reach Blackmire by heading west of Glennwood’s End. |
Albaneve Summits | North of the Kindlewastes | The mountainous region introduced with the Souls of the Frozen Frontier update. Enemies and animals in this location are leveled in the mid to high 20s, and the temperature in the highest altitudes can cause hypothermia that damages your health if you don’t wear gear with Frost Resistance. You can reach the Albaneve Summits by heading north of East Lapis. |
Enshrouded is still in early access, meaning we can expect more biomes to release as developer Keen Games continues to push updates leading to the game’s full release. Keep an eye on the game’s roadmap for 2025 and beyond for more information about what to expect in Enshrouded‘s development cycle.
This information is up to date as of Enshrouded’s Souls of the Frozen Frontier update. As more biomes are released, we will continue updating this article.
