Start sharing between characters.

The account-wide sharing system in World of Warcraft called Warbands went live with the launch of The War Within. Here’s how to access the new system to start sharing resources between your characters.

Warbands in WoW are a huge quality of life improvement, allowing you to share resources and reputation across both factions (Alliance and Horde). The system officially went live with the release of The War Within (TWW), where you have a shared bank between four of your best characters. Shared items include achievements, quests, flight paths, currencies, and Transmog collections.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Warband Bank in WoW.

Everyone can take advantage of the new WoW Warband system through any Bank. If you are playing the TWW campaign, the first opportunity you’ll have to unlock the new system is through the city of Dornogal. The Isle of Dorn city is accessible after completing a handful of campaign quests, so you won’t have to play long before being able to take advantage of the Warband Bank unless you’re broke.

Take a moment to venture off the campaign quest and enter the Dornogal Bank, also known as the Council Treasury. Walk up to the teller and click on the Warband Bank tab. To open a Warband Bank, the initial cost is 1,000 gold. If you don’t have the funds, set Dornogal as your home and complete some quests. Once the gold is obtained, use the Hearthstone to return to Dornogal.

How expensive is the Warband Bank in The War Within?

After spending the gold to set up a WoW Warband Bank, you’ll have 98 slots available. To access more slots, click the Tab button. Get ready to spend gold, as expanding your Bank tab isn’t cheap.

  • One additional Warband Bank tab: 25,000 gold.
  • Second additional Warband Bank tab: 100,000 gold.
  • Third additional Warband Bank tab: 500,000 gold.
  • Fourth additional Warband Bank tab: 2,500,000 gold.
  • Fifth additional Warband Bank tab: 3,126,000 gold.

The Warband Bank system in WoW allows you to have a total of six tabs, with each featuring 98 slots—purchasing all six provides 490 slots. Casual players should start with one Warband Bank tab and unlock future tabs as it becomes necessary. The best part about the Warband system is that all your characters share currency, so if you need a second tab, coming up with $100,000 gold isn’t impossible.

Using WoW Warband system outside of Banks in The War Within

Banks aren’t the only way to access the WoW Warband system. After reaching level 70, look for a quest called Warbands: Warbanding Together that is automatically added to your quest log. The short quest has you seek out an NPC called Blue in Gadgetan. To reach the location, use the Caverns of Time portal from either Stormwind or Orgrimmar, depending on your faction.

The Blue quest in Gadgetan requires four small quests to be completed.

  • Warbands: Rift Reader
  • Warbands: Space Ghosts by the Coast
  • Warbands: Twinsposition
  • Warbands: Spacetime is Money

Upon completing the four WoW quests, you’ll receive a spell called Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor. Completing the Warbands: Warbanding Together quests will take you away from the TWW campaign.
