After her reveal at VALORANT Champions 2024, Vyse has shaken up the scene with a powerful defensive kit and unique ultimate ability, making her a premier choice for many different team compositions when she’s released as the sixth sentinel in the game’s history.
But players will have to take a quick breather and wait for her official release date, which is after the epic conclusion to Champions 2024, where the two best teams in the world will collide to etch their names into the VALORANT history books.
Vyse, on the other hand, will make her mark as a strong solo agent who can stem an incoming attack while also providing ample time for a counter-attack. If you’re holding out for the new agent, here is the release date for VALORANT’s upcoming agent, Vyse.
Vyse release date in VALORANT
Vyse is officially set to join VALORANT’s live servers on Wednesday, Aug. 28, just in time for the start of Episode Nine, Act Two. She will also release alongside the new Nocturnum skin line, which summons a massive demon if you manage to score an Ace against the enemy team. Together, they will welcome in a new act that should shake up the meta moving forward.
What are Vyse’s abilities in VALORANT?
She brings a ton of new abilities to the table, including a flash that can be set down and activated, a trap that slows and damages enemies, and a motion sensor trap that activates a wall after a few seconds.
After a short charge-up, Vyse’s ultimate ability summons a thicket of thorns on the ground that will completely disable the primary weapons of any enemies standing upon it. The area of effect is also massive, covering almost the same amount of space as Harbor’s ultimate.
What role will Vyse have in VALORANT?
Since Vyse is a tactical genius in VALORANT‘s lore, she will take the Sentinel role to help anchor down a site and prevent enemies from storming into an area by ripping them to shreds with her various abilities. She will excel at full site lockdown, but unlike other agents in the Sentinel role, she won’t be able to give as much information to her team.
She acts more like an Initiator-type Sentinel since she must take advantage of her abilities to set up her kills. For example, her pre-placed flash can be handy when preparing to swing an angle, but if she isn’t around to take a duel, then many of her abilities are relatively useless.
Additionally, she’ll be able to combo her abilities with other agents, so they can catch their foes off-guard by holding some enemies in place for her teammates to pick them off. There are some deadly mixes that can absolutely decimate a team composition with the right timing.
