VALORANT patch 11.02 silently buffs Chamber back into a ‘real’ sentinel

It's time to play.

Whether you’ve been a Chamber main since day one, bounced back and forth, or an ex-main hoping for a turnaround each patch, VALORANT patch 11.02 is for you. Besides shifting engines, the latest update finally delivers a fulfilling buff the handsome Frenchman always needed—but silently.

The patch notes don’t mention it, but it was later officially clarified that Chamber’s Trademark (trap) no longer has a range restriction going forward with VALORANT patch 11.02, which was released on July 29. Tiffy, Agents & Live Product Manager at Riot, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “This buff is to help him position more flexibly and help him solidify his role within the current state of Sentinels.”

After ruling the sentinel meta in VALORANT for months, Chamber was hit with a string of brutal nerfs in 2022, with patch 5.12 delivering the final blow, all in an effort to balance the game. But instead of “balance,” the nerfs effectively dismantled his design and stripped down his entire kit, leaving him a shell of the agent who once dominated lobbies and set the pace of every site hold.

Over the years till now, Riot Games did attempt to revive him through small, scattered buffs, like increasing teleport range, reducing Headhunter bullet costs, and speeding up his golden Operator, but none of it truly brought him back.

Patch 11.02’s change, however, feels like a genuine ray of hope since Chamber can now be an effective sentinel, although not as strong, but similar to what he was once. You can now place his Trademark on one site and move around the map freely without having to worry about disabling the trap and losing information. That’s huge for a pseudo-duelist sentinel agent with massive weapon power.

Chamber’s latest change also leaves Killjoy as the only sentinel with range-restricted traps. While that might seem unfair at first glance, it really isn’t when you consider her overall design—none of the other traps in VALORANT offer the same flexibility, layering crowd control, damage, and, let’s be honest, sheer annoyance.

Now that patch 11.02 is live with the long-awaited Unreal Engine 5 upgrade, you can enjoy playing Chamber and every other VALORANT agent in a noticeably smoother, higher-FPS environment. More frames mean tighter shots, cleaner fights, and maybe even a few extra clutches. So really, what better time to lock in our favorite weapons designer?
