While escaping the Imperial Sewers with Emperor Uriel Septim and his Blades in Oblivion Remastered, your majesty sees potential in you. He tells you that he charts a course for the stars while serving the Nine and provides an option for you to choose your Birthsign at the start of the game.
Each Birthsign in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered offers unique advantages. The game spoils with a myriad of choices, but you might be confused about selecting the best one for yourself because the decisions are permanent for the rest of the game after leaving the Sewers, and you’ll need to load up another save to play with a different Birthsign.

What is the best Birthsign in Oblivion Remastered?

While choosing your Birthsign in Oblivion Remastered, the best one might vary from player to player based on their playstyle and choices of race and class in the game. If you love getting your hands dirty while fighting enemies, then the obvious best choice for you is the Warrior and the Lady. The Warrior gives you strength points, and the Lady focuses on willpower, while both of them also help with your endurance.
If you’re a fan of casting spells and don’t want any major downsides to play it safe, you can choose the Mage Birthsign, giving you an extra 50 Magicka to start your journey. You can also live your life dangerously and choose the Apprentice, which gives you double the Magicka, but comes with a major side of being weak to magic, so you’ll need to be extra careful around mages. And if downsides don’t stop you from taking the absolute best Mage birthsign, you’ll love the Atronach, which gives you the highest Magicka points, but you won’t have a Magicka bar. You’ll need to absorb the Magicka from the enemies and use it against them.
We’d recommend the Atronach and Apprentice as the best Birthsigns for the mages out there, but if you want a simple start in the game, you can’t go wrong with the Mage. For my sneaky assassins, Thief is a no-brainer for increased luck, agility, and speed. But the best starsign for the stealth-loving players is the Shadow, which gives you Invisibility for a long time. It is great for sneaking around in high-level areas and avoiding fights. If you’re someone who likes to tank the enemies’ attacks, the Lord Birthsign is the best for you. But if you like healing yourself while scaring the enemies, choose the Ritual Birthsign.
Lastly, there are a few ones which could be the best choice according to the situation. You can probably choose these Birthsigns when you replay the game after some time playing it. These are the Tower, Steed, Lover, and Serpent Birthsigns, which can complement your playstyle. The best part about these Birthsigns is that you don’t need to stick to a particular category of class, allowing you to make hybrid builds.
