Star streamer and former pro player Michael “shroud” Grzesiek played a short session of Apex Legends last night only a day after his latest elbow surgery. Shroud is still recovering from a procedure he underwent to put a plate on his left elbow following a serious scooter accident he had a few weeks ago.

Shroud’s surgery was completed on March 29, and he skipped streaming for a few days for recovery. He said last night that he wanted to play a bit and could start a livestream on his Twitch channel for a bit, and he did.

Shroud shared details of his surgery when he went live. He said someone in the doctor’s team recognized that he was a professional game streamer and that he used that elbow quite often to play. That person told the surgeon who he was, and then the surgeon adapted the incision and the elbow procedure to make sure Shroud wouldn’t be affected too much by it when he had to rest his elbows on the chair or on the desk. “Instead of going straight down on my elbow through my tricep, he did like a ‘U’ so that I wouldn’t be resting on my incision when I played,” shroud said. “He moved the metal plate one or two inches higher so I wouldn’t be resting on the metal plate when I play as well.”

This could be shroud’s last surgery for this injury. His surgeon said a third surgery might not be necessary anymore due to how well it’s healing.

Shroud’s stream was relatively short. Even so, he confirmed he’ll play today in the Apex Legends Rivals on Twitch.
