Star Wars Outlaws is a fresh foray into the decades-long universe fans everywhere have come to love, and if you’ve already thrown on a Han Solo-esque coat and picked up a blaster, you can also find out how to preload Outlaws.

EA’s Star Wars Jedi franchise has proven incredibly popular, lifting the Star Wars brand from the doldrums following the backlash to 2017’s maligned Battlefront 2. Now, it’s Ubisoft’s turn with Outlaws to bring a new perspective to the series.

Needless to say, fanatical followers of Star Wars are already doing the Cantina shuffle as we get closer to release day. Another way to show your enthusiasm is to preload Outlaws on your preferred format.

When does Star Wars Outlaws preloading go live?

When you can preload Star Wars Outlaws will depend on what edition you have pre-ordered. If you have picked up the Standard, global launch, Edition, you can start preloading at the following times:

  • PS5: Aug 28 at 12am (midnight) local time
  • Xbox Series X|S: Aug. 19 at 2pm UTC
  • PC: Aug. 26 at 10am UTC

If you’ve pre-ordered the Ultimate or Gold Edition, and have early access, then you can start preloading from the following times:

  • PS5: Aug 25 at 12am (midnight) local time
  • Xbox Series X|S: Aug. 19 at 2pm UTC
  • PC: Aug. 26 at 10am UTC

Preload times are mostly the same for early access and standard release, expect those on PS5 can start installing the games a few days earlier.

How to preload Star Wars Outlaws on PS5

Pre-order Outlaws on the PlayStation 5 store to allow yourself to preload the RPG title early.

Here are some steps to follow:

  1. Go to the PlayStation 5 store.
  2. Search for and click on Star Wars Outlaws.
  3. Choose your desired edition and buy it.
  4. At the relevant time above, the store page will change to give you an option to download the game to your console.
  5. Once it’s complete, you can now play Star Wars Outlaws the second it goes live.

How to preload Star Wars Outlaws on Xbox Series X

The Xbox store is the place to go to buy Star Wars Outlaws and guarantee yourself an opportunity to preload it ahead of time.

Here’s a quick walkthrough showing you what to do with your Xbox Series X:

  1. Turn on your Xbox Series X and go to the Xbox store.
  2. In the search bar, look for Star Wars Outlaws.
  3. Check out each edition of the game and select the option to buy.
  4. At the relevant time above, the store page will change to give you an option to download the game to your console.
  5. Check your hard drive has enough space and download the RPG title.
  6. Outlaws is now accessible for you as soon as the countdown hits launch.

How to preload Star Wars Outlaws on PC

Unsurprisingly, the only way to preload Outlaws on PC is through the official Ubisoft store.

Find out everything you need to know right here:

  1. Go onto your computer and search for the Ubisoft store—or download Ubisoft Connect.
  2. Look for Star Wars Outlaws and select your preferred edition.
  3. The Outlaws game page will change when preloads go live (at the times listed above), allowing you to preload the game.
  4. Do this, and Outlaws will be ready for action!
