Rematch took everyone by surprise with its arcade-style soccer gameplay that comfortably fills the gap once occupied by titles like FIFA Street. It’s fast-paced, visually flashy, and offers smooth matchmaking. With a clear focus on online play, it’s fair to ask whether Rematch supports crossplay.
Here is everything you need to know about the online capabilities of Rematch and whether it supports crossplay and cross-progression.
Table of contents
Does Rematch have crossplay support?
Yes, Slopclap has confirmed that they plan to have crossplay supported for Rematch at launch. They announced this earlier in February on X (formerly Twitter).
Sloclap also shared an update on the crossplay implementation in their FAQ for the current beta.

The beta itself doesn’t have crossplay, but it is planned for the final version. However, if they aren’t able to provide it, it will be implemented “ASAP.”
If you’re playing on Xbox Series S|X, then you can always pair up with players on the PC who either bought the game through the Microsoft Store or have subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.
Does Rematch have cross-progression support?
No, Rematch does not have any form of cross-progression support. Your progress and stats are tied to your platform’s account.
Rematch offers a 5v5 competitive mode where two teams compete against each other. Additionally, there are 3v3 and 4v4 quick-play game modes as well. This is primarily an online experience, but you can still enjoy it offline in practice and free play mode.
If you have been enjoying the beta, note that your progress will not carry over to the full release, and you’ll start fresh when the game launches next month.
Rematch release date
Rematch is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PS5 on June 19, 2025. It’s also coming day one to Xbox Game Pass and is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier.
I really hope that crossplay will be available at launch, because it can tremendously increase the longevity of a multiplayer title. It’s also one of the important basic features of any online experience at this point.
