In a shocking update, PUBG Mobile has announced that one of Twisted Minds’ players—Abdullah “Wa7sh” Bassam—can no longer participate in the ongoing PMGC 2025 tournament due to rulebook violations.
The announcement came on Dec. 4, with the official PUBG Mobile Esports account on X sharing that the 19-year-old has been removed from the tournament on the grounds that he gained an unfair advantage over Team Arcred by “sneak peeking on a competitor’s device.” According to officials, this happened during the second match of Group Stage Day Two, which was Match Eight of Group Red on Dec. 3.

Quoting PUBG Mobile’s “zero tolerance policy toward unsportsmanlike conduct and rule violations,” the official post stated that the decision to disqualify Wa7sh was made “in keeping with the 2025 PMGC Rulebook.”
As a team, Twisted Minds are still part of the tournament. They’ll continue to participate with their registered substitute (reportedly their manager SAW), but the points they accrued in the match have been forfeited as a penalty. Thankfully, it won’t be much of a loss since they were eliminated early in that match, gaining only one kill point.
But that’s not all: Twisted Minds will also face a 10 percent deduction in whatever prize pool money they earn at the end of the tournament. “Upholding competitive integrity is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring a fair gameplay experience for all players,” the announcement emphasized.
While strict rules are necessary to prevent cheating, it’s worth questioning how Wa7sh managed to sneak peek in the first place. The incident raises concerns not just about player conduct, but also about the tournament’s setup and oversight. If teams were seated too close to one another, clearer spacing or physical barriers could have minimized the possibility of such violations altogether.
“So they were sitting too close to each other? I believe this is your mistake and I think this is an unfair penalty,” one viewer commented on PUBG Mobile’s verdict, suggesting that the organizers share responsibility for creating an environment where this could happen. It’s a global championship, after all.
At the time of writing, Twisted Minds sit at 74 points and 12th place in Group Red of PMGC 2025. They still have two group matches left to attempt a comeback, finish in the top 11, and advance to Last Chance.
