The two Overwatch players signed and released from Lunatic-Hai this past week now have a new organization: Laser Kittenz.
Lee “claris” Keon-Ho and Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-Beom will join Laser Kittenz’ international Overwatch lineup. “Claris and Munchkin have been on my radar for a long time,” Laser Kittenz CEO Ali “Alicus” Saba told Dot Esports. “I initiated talks with them prior to their chance to get onto Lunatic-Hai.”
Munchkin and claris ranked first and second in Lunatic-Hai’s previous player testing, which earned them their initial spots on the South Korean championship roster. After controversy emerged regarding questionable behavior from both players, claris and Munchkin were both released from Lunatic-Hai.
“They are great guys that I know on a personal level and I stand by them,” Saba added.
It’s a move that worked in Laser Kittenz favor, however. Picking up two players qualified for the OGN Overwatch APEX’s championship-winning team is certainly a good thing for the new roster. Paired with coach Hong “Cella” Seung Pyo, the new players will get acclimated to the new team as their South Korean bootcamp begins.
Now with a seven-man roster, Laser Kittenz has former Reunited player Finley “Kyb” Adisi and Munchkin on DPS; former Bench Boys player Luís “Greyy” Perestrelo and former TSM player Ivo “Linepro” Kolev on support; former Rogue player Nicholas “skipjack” Rosada on tank; and Carl “crems” Aspehult and claris as flex.
With their new roster, Laser Kittenz is looking strong with the Overwatch League fast approaching.
