ROCCAT is looking to finalize its roster for the upcoming 2018 Spring Split by bringing in some surprise inclusions.
Former Ninjas in Pyjamas ADC Martin “HeaQ” Kordmaa and former Schalke 04 players Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi and Tore “Norskeren” Hoel Eilertsen are set to join the organization, according to a report by ESPN.
Earlier in the day, INVEN Global reported that Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung, formerly of Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Jin “Blanc” Seong-min, formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, will apparently join Team ROCCAT. These two members will apparently be the final pieces of ROCCAT’s 2018 roster.
HeaQ will be reunited with Profit in the Spring Split after their disappointing time on NiP. The team failed to perform on the European stage and finished last in the group, dropping down into the EU Challenger Series for the 2018 season. NiP has since released its entire roster.
Memento and Norskeren were two of the most outstanding members of the Schalke 04 roster in the Summer Split, however. The duo helped Schalke regain promotion to the EU LCS, beating Ninjas in Pyjamas in the process.
ROCCAT finished fourth in the Spring and Summer Split in their groups in 2017 in the EU LCS and will be looking to challenge the top teams in the upcoming season to try and make it to Worlds. ROCCAT came agonizingly close to making it to the EU LCS playoffs in the Spring, losing their spot to Fnatic in the last game of the split.
