‘Only 2 series in 27 days is crazy’: GX Noah bashes LEC 2025 format

The LEC’s 2025 Summer Split format has been facing unrelenting criticism from its community, with GiantX ADC Noah now adding his pointed disapproval.

“By the way, this format is so shit. We wait 17 days to play one series, then [we] need to wait 10 days to play another series. Only two series in 27 days is crazy shit,” Noah said on X (formerly Twitter). “While LCK and LPL are playing two series a week xd,” he added, highlighting the lack of competitive League matches in Europe compared to Asian regions. 

Fans have already expressed dissatisfaction with LEC’s erratic schedule, where matches often fall on Tuesday and have erratic breaks, which break the momentum. New teams like NAVI have also criticised how the tournament’s “bad” format doesn’t give enough time for new teams to gel and rectify their mistakes on the main stage. 

Noah further emphasized the competitive gap, pointing to the significantly higher number of on-stage matches played by teams in China’s LPL and Korea’s LCK. He suggested this lack of consistent, high-pressure stage time is a key reason European teams have struggled to meet expectations in recent international tournaments. 

This sentiment echoes the conversation ignited by Anyone’s Legends’ coach Tabe at MSI 2025 regarding fundamental differences in scrim culture. Increasing the number of official matches could be a crucial step for Europe to bridge this experiential gap and enhance its international competitiveness.

LEC Commissioner Artem Bykov has confirmed that the Summer Split format will not be followed next year. The developer is already listening and working toward a hybrid online/offline system for future tournaments, where teams would have enough matches to match other regions and get enough stage practice to improve their performances. 

GiantX has qualified for the LEC Summer Split 2025. Next, they’ll play against Team BDS in the Loser’s bracket. A single defeat could end their journey in 2025.
