Former SK Gaming AD carry Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou will join Gambit Gaming, sources close to the organization tell the Daily Dot.
Gambit has been split over who should play in its bot lane, extending tryouts to Gamers2 marksman Mohammed “Jebus” Tohki, Fnatic AD carry Pierre “Steeelback” Medjaldi, and a mix of former bot laner Kristoffer “P1noy” Pedersen and other European supports. However, the team appears to have settled on Tzortziou and current support Edward “Edward” Abgaryan for the upcoming split.
Tzortziou most recently plied his trade with fourth-place European League Championship Series team SK Gaming. At SK, he was hailed as one of the best marksman in the region, winning the EU LCS Most Valuable Player award for the 2015 Spring Split.
Tzortziou’s impressive performances couldn’t overcome an increasingly troubled team environment, however. SK finished the regular split with a first-place finish, but the playoffs were not as kind. In the semifinals, SK lost their first playoff series against the Unicorns of Love, knocking them down to third-place decider against H2K Gaming. Despite an impressive performance from Tzortziou in games one and two, H2K reverse-swept the team, leaving SK with their disappointing fourth-place finish.
Tzortziou recently stepped down from SK’s starting lineup. Adrian “CandyPanda” Wübbelman, who had only parted ways with SK eight months prior, took his place. Tzortziou was moved to substitute for the team, prompting negotiations to move elsewhere.
