T1’s international pedigree is undeniable. Their legacy speaks for itself with five Worlds titles, two MSI championships, and multiple LCK crowns. Yet what stands out most is their consistent dominance over Chinese teams, where time and again, T1 seem to rise above them and outclass the China’s best when it matters most on the world stage.

Many recall the incident from Worlds 2013 when OMG refused to shake hands with SKT T1 after their match, something Faker later said he didn’t like in an interview. Some believe that moment marked the start of T1’s unshakable mindset against LPL teams, with Faker’s revenge saga contiunuing after so many years.

The Korean squad eliminated three Chinese teams at Worlds 2025, defeating Invictus Gaming in the play-ins, Anyone’s Legend in the quarterfinals, and Top Esports in the semifinals on their way to the grand final, all in best-of-five series.

T1’s win over Top Esports in the Worlds 2025 semifinals showcased Faker’s calm precision and unmatched adaptability. Facing a Chinese team known for aggression and unpredictable drafts, T1 leaned on experience and discipline to control the tempo. Faker’s mid-lane control and map awareness consistently neutralized TES’s attempts to force skirmishes, keeping the Korean side in the lead.

Faker’s unbeaten streak against LPL teams now spans over 15 years of Worlds competition, from his early triumphs with SK Telecom T1 to T1’s current golden era. While rosters, metas, players, and regions have evolved, Faker’s ability to defeat LPL teams remains constant.

T1 will face underdog KT Rolster in the grand final of Worlds 2025 in Chengdu on Nov. 9.
