Twitch has seen explosive growth since it rebranded from Justin.tv five years ago, and now it’s expanding once again with a new office in Austin, Texas.

The video streaming site, which in 2013 had more than 35 million unique viewers a month, now sees more than 100 million, with around 1.7 million unique broadcasters per month. A large number of those streamers are based in Austin, making it a natural choice for Twitch’s next expansion.

The office is in the SoCo district in South Austin, and will be primarily for engineers and developers. Twitch has job postings for the office online. The team will be led by Ken Demarest, the director of product development for Twitch’s Developer Success team.

“Some of the best and brightest engineers are based in Austin, and they have the ability to create cutting edge products that benefit from game broadcasting,” Demarest said in a statement. “Our goal is to help developers understand and utilize Twitch’s platform to strengthen their connections with their communities.”

Twitch is also expanding its product development team to “work closely with the local talent.” Its main office is in San Francisco, and it also has a sales office in New York and a UK office.
