Alongside the immensely popular battle royale game mode, Fortnite also boasts a wildly beloved creative mode. This creative mode allows players to utilize in-game assets to create entirely new, unique experiences. This mode is set to receive a massive update that has finally been confirmed by Epic Games and Unreal Engine.
Fortnite Creative 2.0, now known officially as Unreal Editor for Fortnite, dropped on March 22, 2023. The short teaser announcement elicited a massive response from Fortnite’s active, creative player base. Since release, players have jumped onto the highly anticipated addition to create tons of new, user-made content.
While many rejoice the release of Creative 2.0, console players similarly interested in creating their own Fornite maps and experiences are unsure exactly where they stand. If you are curious if Creative 2.0 has released for your platform, this is everything that you need to know.
Will Unreal Editor for Fortnite release on console?
Currently, Creative 2.0, or Unreal Editor for Fortnite, is not available for console players. It is unlikely that the enhanced creative mode will become available for console players at any point in the near future, though not out of the question entirely. At the time, only PC players can download the new, robust creative system that gives players a new range of assets and abilities.
The regular creative mode is still available on consoles for players to experiment with. It is entirely possible that elements of Fortnite Creative 2.0 will be integrated into the already-existing console version, though it is unlikely that Xbox or PlayStation players will see a full release of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite.
Creative 2.0 is Fortnite’s next step to unleashing tons of new, player-led created content across the popular battle royale title. Though likely limited to PC players, the Fortnite is available for download now.
