How to get and use Iron Man’s Flight Kit and Combat Kit in Fortnite

Iron Man is back in Fortnite with some new mythic items, including the Flight and Combat Kit.

Fortnite just received a huge mid-season update, bringing the highly-anticipated Iron Man’s mythic, giving you more options to triumph over your enemies. Apart from the mythic, old weapons like the Stark Industries Energy Rifles are also making a comeback in the update.

Here’s everything you need to know about getting your hands on the new Iron Man mythic in Fortnite. 

How to get Iron Man’s Flight and Combat Kit mythics in Fortnite

There are two ways to get your hands on the Iron Man’s Flight and Combat Kit in Fortnite, and both require you to reach the landing pads scattered all over the map. There are six landing pads on the map:

• West of the Raft point of interest.
• North-east of Grim Gate point of interest, near the bridge.
• North of Nitrodome point of interest.
• West of Mount Olympus point of interest. 
• South of Reckless Railways point of interest, at the starting point of the desert biome.
• South of Doom’s Courtyard point of interest, near the railway tracks. 

After reaching these locations, the first way to get your hands on the new mythic is to open the Iron Man chests, similar to the Dr. Doom Chests or Avenger’s Chests, where you will get either the Flight or Combat Kit. There is only one chest per landing pad, so it is mainly based on your luck to get your first piece of Iron Man mythic. 

The best way to get your hands on Iron Man’s Flight and Combat Kit is to wait until the third circle, and some of these launch pads inside the safe zone should have Iron Man and War Machine’s logo flashing on them. You can spot these flashing logos by opening your minimap. 

Make your way toward the Iron Man launch pads, and the Mobile Armory should land on the spot. You can go inside and get the Iron Man’s Loadout, which gives you both the Flight and Combat Kit in Fortnite. If you end up in a landing pad with a War Machine space capsule, you will find the entire War Machine’s Arsenal inside it, which is also a great deal. 

You can also buy the Combat Kit from the Iron Man NPC who roams near the Grim Gate landing spot for 600 Gold.

How to use Iron Man’s Flight and Combat Kit mythics in Fortnite

Iron Man’s Flight Kit works similarly to War Machine’s Hover Jets and allows you to boost up in the sky, but the Flight Kit gives you a much higher elevation than the Hover Jets. It also lasts longer than the Hover Jets, and you can practically go faster and higher in the air for a very long time. You can also use it to slam dunk on enemies. It’s a reliable tool to make rotations around the map.

The only downside to the Flight Kit is that you can’t use your weapons, and you can only shoot the Unibeam from a high altitude if you have the Combat Kit in your inventory. The Combat Kit gives you two modes to fire. You can use the repulsor, which deals 30 damage on a body shot and 45 on a headshot, to shut down enemies, but they also heat up, so you have to use them judiciously. The Unibeam, on the other hand, is a charged attack that deals 90 damage on impact to the enemy, but it’s harder to aim at a moving target.
