As we approach Tuesday, Fortnite developer Epic Games gets ready to release a new game update. We first thought it was the v7.40 update since Fortnite design lead Eric Williamson said a fix for the urgent bug turning aim assist into an aimbot should be fixed in v7.40.

However, Epic announced in Fortnite’s Twitter account that a new Content Update for v7.30 is coming instead. But this changes very little regarding what Fortnite players might see added, removed, or changed in the game.

Thanks to a few comments by the game developers, leaks by dataminers, and trends in previous updates, we can guess a few things that might be coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale in the v7.30 Content Update this Tuesday.

Bottle Rockets

Bottle Rockets are coming soon to Fortnite: Battle Royale. Epic added a message to the in-game News tab saying the item is “loud, bright, and dangerous,” but refrained from providing more details about how it will work. We speculate it will be a trap that players can control, just like the Mounted Turret. Bottle Rockets aren’t confirmed for v7.30 Content Update, but Epic generally adds items they tease in the News tab in the following update.

Foraged Campfires

There’s been a lot of speculation about campfires since v7.30 was released. There are new ones spread around the Fortnite island with their fire put out, and players can’t light them up. But Epic has revealed that they’re coming tomorrow as Foraged Campfire. “Get cozy around campfires in the v7.30 Content Update,” the company wrote.

Apparently, it will also be a healing item, just like the Cozy Campfire players can carry in their inventories.

Some think lighting up a campfire might even have something to do with the stage three of The Prisoner skin. We might be able to confirm this tomorrow, if environmental campfires are added.

Aim assist cooldown

It seems that Fortnite players on controllers found a way to abuse the aim assist feature. Players can turn aim assist into a soft aimbot when spamming aim down sights with most weapons, like Assault Rifles and Pistols. When players aim down sights, their crosshair will move automatically to the body of the enemy, allowing for an easy shot. If they do it again, this behavior will repeat.

Epic said it’ll add a short cooldown to the aim assist effect to avoid this kind of ADS abuse only in the v7.40 update, but if it’s a pressing issue, we could see it already added to the game tomorrow.

A Lunar New Year celebration

Leakers found several events coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale after the v7.30 update. There were four in the list, named Festivus, Football, Earthquake, and New Year.

We know that Festivus was the codename of Marshmello’s concert at Pleasant Park that took place this weekend and that Football referred to the Super Bowl event. We also have clues that Earthquake refers to events that might lead up to the end of season seven. Only New Year is still a mystery.

Since the Lunar New Year celebrations start in China tomorrow, Feb. 5, it’s very likely that Epic is preparing something for Fortnite to celebrate this period. Other games like Overwatch and League of Legends do Lunar New Year events, and it would make sense to see Fortnite celebrating it for the first time as well with small map changes and new skins.

Several leaks

Fortnite data miners have been working a lot every update. They’ve been able to leak both information we were used to seeing in previous seasons, like skins and weekly challenges, and entire models of upcoming characters and events, even reproducing part of the Ice Storm lead-up a week before its official release.

Since we’re approaching the end of season seven, we expect to see several leaks regarding the event that will end the season, but also more information about how The Prisoner may tie the season events together in the lore and if other mysteries like the dragon eggs will be solved.

We will only find out what the v7.30 Content Update will reveal once it goes live tomorrow.
