With the latest Fortnite Chapter Five, season four update, you can get Medallions by defeating bosses at different points of interest. Apart from giving you an extra ability, the Medallion also reveals your location on the map, making you a sitting duck. Carrying it in your inventory is a high-risk, high-reward strategy.

If you have what it takes to don the Medallions. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

What do the new Medallions do in Fortnite?

There are three Medallions on the Fortnite map and you can have all three at one time to get the benefit of each Medallion. Here’s what the new Medallions do in Fortnite:

Siphon Medallion

The Siphon Medallion grants health and shields after securing an elimination. The Medallion is very helpful to quickly recover your lost health after a close fight, allowing you to keep up your fights without stopping.

I had a great time with the Siphon Medallion, as it allowed me to aggressively push players without needing to look for shelters to patch myself up in Zero Build after fights. You can get the Siphon Medallion by defeating the Doombot boss in Doom’s Castle or by defeating players that already have the Medallion.

Stealth Medallion

As the name suggests, the Stealth Medallion makes you completely invisible for a couple of seconds while using the crouch option. You can break the invisibility by standing up or firing a weapon. Even when you don’t break your invisibility, you can run out of the ability after a couple of second, so make sure to use it occasionally. Also keep in mind you’re still visible on the map just because you have the Medallion, and players might shoot around to find you and ruin your perfect cover.

I didn’t end up using this Medallion in my matches, but it could be a good option for passive players who like to keep a low profile. You can get the Stealth Medallion by defeating the Mysterio boss in Doomstadt, or by defeating players who have it.

Reveal Medallion

The Reveal Medallion is great at giving you information on the nearby enemy players and NPCs, making it one of the best Medallions in Fortnite. It scans the area around you once in a while, so it isn’t super consistent. However, it counters some passive players who like to sneak up on you.

You can get the Reveal Medallion after defeating the Emma Frost boss fight in the Raft or by defeating players to take the Medallion.
