Today’s Fortnite 7.10 update will bring the holiday season to the game. The new event 14 Days of Fortnite starts on Dec. 19 at 8 am CT, and it’ll change Fortnite: Battle Royale to make players feel a bit more christmassy.
What will impact players directly is the addition of a special rotation of Limited Time Modes for 14 days. Developer Epic Games will add new and returning team game modes to Battle Royale during that period. Big team modes we’ve seen before, such 20-large teams of Team Rumble and 50 in Soaring 50’s will stay in the game for two days, while modes with small teams, such as four-player Squads, will stay for 24 hours.

This likely means that players will have at least two Limited Time Modes to play at any given time during the 14 Days of Fortnite.
During that period, players will have special daily challenges they can complete to earn an exclusive reward. Epic is yet to reveal what kinds of rewards are there.
Epic is also making map changes with the event. The company says “the holidays have hit Battle Royale, and it’s shown across the map in a variety of ways.” Just like last year, the Grenade Launcher will receive a visual revamp to become the Snowball Launcher, and bushes, especially the Legendary Bush item, will be decorated with holiday lights.
Holiday and snow-themed skins and cosmetics will also be rotating in and out of the Item Shop during 14 Days of Fortnite. Players can expect old Christmas skins to return to the game every day in what could be an opportunity that will only return next year, as Epic will likely keep them away from regular rotations until the next Holiday season.
Fortnite players will then enjoy Christmas by gifting their friends with Holiday explosions and Christmassy ambushes.
