Monody-44 god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

Brought to you by SUROS.

With the introduction of gear Tiers to Destiny 2 in The Edge of Fate, many old weapons are now in need of a replacement, as Tiered versions come with multiple enhanced perks across all columns, enhanced mod slots, and event Origin Traits. In the fusion rifle department, one of the new additions is the Monody-44.

Monody-44 is a Void High-impact fusion rifle. In update 9.5.0 (Renegades), High-impact fusions received a buff to their PvE damage, making them potentially a better option for endgame content. Perk-wise, this fusion offers classic damage perks, like Controlled Burst, as well as a few options for Void synergy.

Here are our Monody-44 god rolls in Destiny 2 for both PvE and PvP.

Monody-44 PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Battery: Accelerated Coils
  • Perk one: Attrition Orbs
  • Perk two: Controlled Burst
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Monody-44 PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Battery: Accelerated Coils
  • Perk one: Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Closing Time
  • Masterwork: Range

Monody-44 doesn’t have many reload perks in the third column apart from Subsistence, so we went with Attrition Orbs to generate Orbs of Power when dealing sustained damage. For Attrition Orbs, you don’t want to have a battery that extends your magazine. With five rounds in the mag, you need to land three bursts to create an Orb of Power, while with six rounds, you need to land four.

In the fourth column, there’s Controlled Burst. It increases the damage by 20 percent for two seconds after landing every shot in a burst, and reduces charge time. Because you want to land all shots anyway to trigger Attrition Orbs as early as possible, these two perks work well together.

It still has the Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combination if you want the Void synergy. However, that combo is usually best reserved for primary weapons, as you won’t be able to take advantage of the perks as often unless you use the fusion rifle all the time. In the fourth column, there’s also Withering Gaze, which applies weaken to the target after aiming down sights for 1.5 seconds.

On the PvP side, High-impact Frame fusion rifles are often lagging behind Rapid-fires, like Zealot’s Reward. One of the few exceptions is the Glacioclasm fusion rifle from the Dawning event, and luckily, Monody-44 has a few similar PvP perks.

Lone Wolf in the third column provides five aim assist, ADS speed, and airborne effectiveness. These effects increase when no allies are nearby, making it especially handy in 3v3 modes. In the fourth column, there’s Closing Time. While the effects of the perk are halved on Special ammo weapons, it still gives you five range, up to 25 handling, and improved accuracy as the magazine gets lower.

How to get Monody-44 in Destiny 2

Monody-44 drops from Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, and Arena Ops in the Portal, the same as Psi Aeterna IV. There’s a variety of activities in those categories that you can run, and occasionally, the weapon can become a Bonus Focus drop for any of the activities. Completing that activity with a grade B or higher guarantees a copy of a weapon.
