This isn’t a break for Hiko though, right after Team Liquid’s announcement he tweeted that he will be a stand-in for OpTic Gaming through DreamHack Vegas. Hiko also hinted at maybe continuing to stand-in for OpTic Gaming after Vegas by saying this in his tweet, “Excited to be playing for @OpTicGaming through DreamHack Vegas at the least!

Team Liquid began 2017 with a bumpy start by not qualifying for DreamHack Vegas due to being beat out by compLexity Gaming. Also, at 2017’s first Major they failed to make it out of the group stages, placing 9-11th. This was a major change from their last Major where they placed 2nd at ESL One: Cologne to the year’s best team, SK Gaming.
