A team that many fans believed would be a heavy favorite in the 2019 CWL Pro League has already suffered their first loss.
On the first day of Division B games, the Spanish squad Team Heretics took down eUnited, who finished second at the CWL Las Vegas Open in December.
To kick off the series, Heretics won the opening Hardpoint by nearly 100 points. The American team fired back with a win of their own, however, taking the first Search and Destroy. In a very intense Gridlock Control game, Heretics took the series lead again. But they quickly conceded it after losing the second Hardpoint of the match.

In the final map, Hacienda Search and Destroy, Heretics were able to finish off eUnited with a 6-4 victory. This win marks the first of a possible seven Heretics can pick up over the next two weeks of Division B play. It will be a tough feat, though, with teams like Envy, 100 Thieves, and Splyce still on their schedule.
The clash between Denial Esports and Enigma6 was the only other match on Monday. After winning two maps, E6 dropped the Control game before finishing off the French team with a second Hardpoint victory.
Here are the standings in Division B of the CWL Pro League (each team’s series record is followed by their map count in parentheses).
