One of the most highly-anticipated moments in Call of Duty history has finally arrived. Call of Duty: WWII has officially been confirmed, and moments ago, the next installment in the CoD franchise was revealed live to the world.
The trailer gave Call of Duty fans their first look at the campaign for WWII. Sledgehammer Games, the developers of Call of Duty: WWII, showed just how gruesome and bloody this war was by highlighting real historic events from World War II.
The developers tried to depict the bonds of brotherhood formed by everyday citizens joining forces to fight for their country. WWII will feature several well-known actors, including Josh Duhamel as Sgt. William Pierson, Jeffrey Pierce as 1st Lt. Joseph Turner, and Jonathan Tucker as Pfc. Robert Zussman.
From storming the beaches of Normandy to internal conflicts between allied soldiers, this trailer gave Call of Duty fans a real feeling of what World War II was like.
The Call of Duty franchise has seen success with World War II games in the past, most notably in 2008 when Treyarch released Call of Duty: World at War.
CoD: WaW was a pivotal game in the Call of Duty franchise, as the campaign introduced fans to Viktor Reznov, a Russian squad leader of the Red Army and one of the most important protagonists in franchise history. World at War also gave fans their first zombies experience, which has greatly developed over time into one of the best game modes in Call of Duty.
If Call of Duty: WWII is anything like World at War, fans of the franchise are in for a treat when this game is released to the public on Nov. 3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
