Here are some of the best abilities you can unlock in Black Myth: Wukong.

8) Robust Constitution

Starting with a seemingly obvious selection is Robust Constitution, a skill that increases your maximum health. While the number of times you can upgrade this skill to increase your health through the skill tree is quite limited, upgrading it early on helps tremendously against many early bosses. Moreover, maxing out this skill and acquiring several other items that increase your maximum health as you progress the game helps you last much longer in fights.

7) Force Unbound

Force Unbound is one of the easily skippable abilities you can acquire in Black Myth: Wukong, as you can go through the entire game without looking at it twice. However, the skill is incredibly useful as it lets you deal more damage while simultaneously avoiding potential damage. With Force Unbound, your character will be able to run and charge up heavy attacks and Focus at the same time. This lets you come up with more strategies and provides more opportunities to make use of heavy attacks.

6) Mobile Spin

The Spin attack is one of the base attacks you get in Black Myth: Wukong. It lets you execute consistent and simultaneous attacks by spinning your staff while you’re stationary. However, the Mobile Spin ability goes even further by letting you spin your staff while moving. This lets you track enemy movements while dealing consistent damage while blocking and deflecting incoming arrows and projectiles.

5) Simian Agility

Simian Agility is one of the most useful skills in the game, as it provides a passive but critical advantage that reduces stamina consumption. Specifically, it reduces the amount of stamina you consume while dodging, which you do a lot of when fighting enemies and particularly fast bosses like the Tiger Vanguard. As such, it is essential to unlock this skill ASAP.

4) Crash

Crash is one of the many skills paired with the Immobilize spell, which you get early on in the game. The skill lets you deal more damage to immobilized enemies, which gives you an upper hand in combat, especially to extremely quick enemies and bosses.

Moreover, the skill is further enhanced when paired with Stagnation, another useful ability that extends the duration of the next Immobilize spell with each consecutive light attack. Pairing both abilities makes the Immobilize spell even more useful.

3) Surging Momentum

While this ability can’t be unlocked early in the game as it has a specific level requirement, it doesn’t make it any less important. Surging Momentum is a six-slot ability you can put points into, increasing your overall damage. The potential to upgrade this five times makes it mandatory, especially as bosses in the latter half of the game have significantly more health.

2) Skyfall Strike

Black Myth: Wukong features many staff stances, and you can cycle between them depending on the combat scenarios. Smash Stance is arguably the most versatile, as it helps in many scenarios. Perhaps the best ability for it is Skyfall Strike, an attack that lets you deal extra damage after executing the heavy attack Resolute Strike.

This consumes two Focus points but lets you deal significantly more damage, especially after unlocking other skills like Surging Momentum. Acquiring Invigoration also lets you gain Focus after executing Resolute Strike, which then allows you to stack Focus while dealing extra damage.

1) Volition

Perhaps the most useful spell in Black Myth: Wukong is the Pluck of Many spell, which creates a bunch of duplicates of your character that all deal a lot of damage. While you can increase the health, attack power, and survival timer of the duplicates, the most useful ability for the spell is Volition.

With Volition, all your created duplicates gain the ability to use other spells, including Immobilize and Ring of Fire, making you and your duplicates a formidable force against powerful bosses, especially when you have acquired all the other upgrades for the spells.
