Heat things up.

One of the challenges you’re going to need to overcome in Black Myth: Wukong is the Banes that debuff you in combat. One of the harder Banes to get rid of is the Chill Bane, a.k.a Frost, which enacts a freezing status effect.

The best way to deal with the Chill state in Black Myth: Wukong is to acquire Body-Warming Powder. You can only get the item by crafting one.

To craft it, you only need one Fire Bellflower and one Jade Lotus. You can get the recipe for the item after the Xu Dog quest by defeating the frog boss in the Sandgate Village. You can also get resistance pills that prevent other status effects like Chill too.

After acquiring the required items, head to a nearby Shrine and navigate to the ‘Make Medicines’ tab. The Chilled State is instantly removed upon using the Body-Warming Powder, and you also gain Chill Resistance for a short duration.

The Chill Bane can be very annoying to deal with, especially as you’ll encounter it a lot in the latter half of the story. It becomes significantly easier to deal with once you know what item to get and how to get the recipe needed to craft the item though. Other similar Banes that appear in Black Myth: Wukong, like Shock, can also be dealt with like this—or you could simply avoid being afflicted by them by dodging loads.
