Liquid officially sign Koosta but won’t be able to play him in the MLG qualifier

Team Liquid has finally, officially signed Kenneth “koosta” Suen. But thanks to player eligibility rules, Suen won’t play for the team at the MLG Columbus qualifier in four days.

Suen is ineligible because he was part of the Enemy side that made it to the qualification event. That restricts him from playing for any other team in the event.

The team had been planning to use Mohamad “mOE” Assad of Echo Fox, who played with Liquid back in December as the ESL ESEA Pro League finals, as a stand-in and announced his participation on Friday.

Assad withdrew this morning, however, leaving Liquid once again on the hunt for someone who is available and not already tied to a team. According to Liquid’s Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, Assad withdrew to avoid falling foul of ineligibility rules in the future.

Ironically, the team’s best option may well be Eric “adreN” Hoag—the player they moved to the bench to bring in Suen.

Suen officially signed with Liquid on Sunday, helping the team secure a place in the £250,000 DreamHack Malmo event.

Whoever the team end up playing with for the MLG major qualifier, they will have to finish in the top two of a group that includes mousesports, HellRaisers, and Team YP.
