Kibellah joined Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader as part of the Void Shadows DLC. She’s a companion character and a Death Cult assassin who can be successfully romanced—provided the player makes certain dialogue choices.
To romance Kibellah in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, players must first unlock the Rituals of the Upper Deck quest, then choose certain lines of dialogue that eventually lead to Kibellah falling head over heels—it’s that simple.
How to get the Rituals of the Upper Deck quest and romance Kibellah
The Rituals of the Upper Desk quest becomes available upon successful completion of the Card Inverted, another DLC quest. To start the Rituals of the Upper Deck quest, simply go and find Kibellah in the Voidship Bridge that’s marked off on the map. Then, choose the following dialogue options:
- “How succinct. Do you dislike talking about yourself?”
- “This air of mystery surrounding you is quite alluring. Did you know that?”
- “What if I showed you my world? One of the rituals we practice on the upper decks?”
- “Thanks for sharing with me.”
- “I must take my leave.”
After speaking to Kibellah, seek out the High Factotum on Voidship Bridge. He can be found right next to Kibellah. Just make the following dialogue choices when talking to him:
- “I would like to introduce Kibellah to some of the customs practised among people of my stature — show her the life on the upper decks, so to speak.”
- “I was counting on you to choose an appropriate ritual.”
- End dialogue.
There’s a bit of a hiatus here until Danrok gets in touch, at which point choose the “Splendid, Danrok. Summon the guests” response. Return to the ship and find Kibellah on the Upper Decks, then select the following dialogue options to successfully romance her:
- “Would you be willing to learn one of the rituals of the high society — Dancing?”
- Passionately wrap your arms around Kibellah’s waist.
- “You didn’t enjoy it?”
- “How do you like the ceremonies on the upper deck?”
- “Camaraderie. Spending all your day in toil can be… dreary.”
- “I see you have found a delicacy to your liking.”
- “How are you?”
- [Smile at Kibellah] “I see you have already mastered the art of social scandal. You seem to be quite in your element.”
- “I am intrigued to see the real you — without your spinner mask, that is.”
- “I grow weary of the crowd. Take a walk with me.”
- “I wanted to show you that there are other things in life besides service and duty.”
- [Step closer] “That sounds promising.”
- Kiss Kibellah.
- “I want to stay with you, somewhere private.”
As the last line of dialogue suggests, the player then heads off with Kibellah and consider her romanced.
Other characters you can and can’t romance in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
Kibellah is one of several Companions who can be romanced in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, the others being Marathas, Cassia, Heinrix, Jae, and Yrliet. Kibellah can be romanced by either a male or female Rogue Trader. As for the others, here’s a quick run-down of their preferences:
- Marazhai – Male and female Rogue Trader
- Cassia – Male Rogue Trader only
- Heinrix – Female Rogue Trader only
- Jae – Male and female Rogue Trader
- Yrliet – Male and female Rogue Trader
While there are some Rogue Trader characters who don’t mind all the flattery, there are others who are strictly off-limits. The following companions cannot be romanced for a variety of reasons, even though it might be disappointing to learn.
- Abelard – He already has a wife, Héloïse, with whom he shares a son, Astrolabe
- Idira – Too jaded and disinterested in finding love
- Pasqal – Believes that romance is forbidden as a Tech-Priest
- Argenta – May as well be married to the God Emperor as a Sister of Battle
- Ulfar – Dedicated to his role as a Space Marine
