When does Luna release in The First Descendant?

Not long to wait.

The First Descendant burst onto the scene following a global launch on July 2, and one of the characters who caught players’ eyes during the main story is Luna, who isn’t yet a playable Descendant.

Luna joins The First Descendant on July 31 as a part of the week five update, according to an official X post from developer Nexon Games. This update also introduces Ultimate Valby as a playable Descendant and a new Colossus, Gluttony, to face in Void Intercept Battles.

But that’s not all. The week five update features a new Peace Maker hand cannon Ultimate Weapon, Modification Modules for both new characters, a new Ultimate Module, and multiple balancing changes.

The next major update scheduled after this is the launch of season one on Aug. 23. Season one will add even more content, including a new Descendant, a new Descendant story, and a new Ultimate Descendant, alongside new Ultimate Weapons, skins, season progression, field completion, and more.

Who is Luna in The First Descendant?

The Mad Artist Luna is a support Descendant who uses music to buff nearby allies, although she isn’t a healer, as fans have speculated. Luna uses a synthesizer gun that becomes more powerful when fired in rhythm and enhances allies’ abilities based on the mode. When dancing to upbeat music, Luna enhances Skill Power, and when dancing to relaxing music, she recovers allies’ mentality and reduces resource consumption.

It’s unclear what mentality is in the context of her abilities, as there’s no resource or stat in The First Descendant with that name. The mentality may be related to Skill Cost, similar to Strong Mentality and Frugal Mindset Modules, but we’ll have to wait until her release to find out.

Luna Modification Modules in The First Descendant

The First Descendant revealed two Modification Modules for Luna, which arrive alongside the character in the upcoming update. Much like other Modification Modules like Supply Moisture, these can enhance or completely change how you play the character.

Here are the Luna’s Modification Modules:

  • Nimble Footsteps: Enhances Luna’s mobility and amplifies the effect range of her performance, allowing for more effective ally support.
  • Noise Surge: Transforms Luna from a support to a combat dealer. Dashes towards enemies in rhythm, dealing damage to nearby enemies. When the inspiration gauge is full, summons a stage to recover mental strength and shields. Provide enemies with a terrifying musical experience with Noise Surge!

Whether you want to focus on your support build or go full damage, you can do that as long as you have the right Module. Luna is set to arrive on July 31, and don’t worry—there will be some cool cosmetics for you to pick up if you decide to grind for the character, including a swimsuit outfit.
