The season one mid-season update in The First Descendant is only two weeks away, and today, we get a better look at what to expect, including more details about the upcoming mysterious merchant, ETA-0.
In today’s blog post, Nexon revealed how the upcoming ETA-0 vendor will appear in The First Descendant every Friday to Sunday and offer a different list of goods each week. These goods include Descendant blueprints, weapon blueprints, materials, inventory expansions, paints, and more.
To trade with ETA-0, you need Standard ETA Vouchers or Premium ETA Vouchers. One way to get them is by exchanging surplus weapon blueprints with the vendor. The developer warned because ETA-0 has limited stock, the number of blueprints you can exchange is also limited.
For more dedicated players, there’s a way to grind ETA Vouchers. In the mid-season update, The First Descendant introduces 400-percent difficulty for Infiltration Operations with more monsters and loot, including ETA Vouchers. These dungeons pose a significant challenge, as the final battle consists of not one but two bosses you have to fight at the same time.
Nexon previously mentioned it wants ETA-0 to play a role in expanding the “variety of loops and choices available.” It allows you to farm the dungeons you’re more comfortable with and then exchange the drops for something else. It’s unclear if we can exchange Descendant blueprints, but the developer added it’ll continue to expand the “opportunities to utilize” spare blueprints.
Another major improvement coming to The First Descendant is improved Reactor farming. With the update, an Ultimate Reactor will have up to three Optimization Conditions, and you can manually implant them to have one Reactor for multiple Ultimate weapon loadouts.
The mid-season update for The First Descendant season one is scheduled for Oct. 10 and brings the rest of the seasonal content, including Ultimate Freya, Freyna’s story, Transcendent Modules, Death Stalker Void Intercept Battle, and more.
