Poor Lana.

Dress to Impress is a fashion-focused game on the surface, but there’s some surprisingly complex and deep evolving lore hiding right beneath the surface. Part of this lore is the secret basement area you may not know how to find.

This hidden area grants access to a pretty unique outfit item and unravels another thread in the ever-changing Lana lore. The basement is a hidden room you can access by walking through a shelf in the Salon in Dress to Impress. Finding this room is fairly tricky if you don’t know where to look, so here’s a breakdown of how to access the secret basement area.

  • Visit Lina’s Salon. This location was once called Lana’s Salon, but as the lore has evolved, it’s now called Lina’s Salon instead and is the room attached to the lobby where you can change your hair and makeup.
  • Locate the shelf with spilled nail polish in front of it. As you head straight into the salon, look for a shelf with cosmetic items in the middle of the room. On the ground in front of this shelf, there’s a bunch of spilled nail polish.

  • Walk into the shelf. It looks like a wall, but it’s actually a secret door you can walk right through.
  • Fall down the hole by the ladder. Once you’re through the shelf, fall down the hole right next to the ladder to reach the basement.

Inside the basement, you’ll find all kinds of creepy writing along the walls, but by far the eeriest part about this location is Lana locked in a cage. Some teaser items around the area will also be arriving as future DTI codes.

This location is certainly creepy, but it makes a great backdrop with excellent lighting for snapping some photos after dressing up for different themes. It’s an especially great spot to visit when you’re creating looks for challenges like Surrealism, Divine Being, and Urban Legends.

Although it used to be available in the Salon, Lana’s dress can now be found in the basement with her. It’s sitting on the ground by some boxes right near the ladder. This is the only item you can find and use in the basement, but it’s an important one to remember since there are no other items like it.
