Why Tung Tung Tung Sahur was removed from Steal a Brainrot

Bye bye Sahur.

One of the beloved Steal a Brainrot characters, Tung Tung Tung Sahur, has been quietly removed from the game—and fans are not happy about it.

Steal a Brainrot is currently breaking concurrent player records, surpassing 20 million, and it is taking over games like Fortnite and Roblox. It houses all the Italian Brainrot characters and more, allowing players to capture and earn money to acquire rarer Brainrot characters for their bases.

Why was Tung Tung Tung Sahur removed from Steal a Brainrot?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur was removed from Roblox’s Steal a Brainrot in response to IP infringement by Noxa, an Indonesian TikTok creator who posted the original post regarding the character. Noxa’s IP handling agency, Mementum Lab, made a statement about the character’s removal, claiming that it didn’t explicitly ask the Steal a Brainrot developer to take down Tung Tung Tung Sahur.

According to the statement, while Mementum Lab reached out to Sammy, the developer, about the character, he asked them to talk to his lawyer while removing the character from the game. “Steal a Brainrot is making millions of revenue using Noxa’s work, in which we invest time and resources,” Mementum Lab clarified in its statement, adding that it’s open to a discussion with Sammy to let players play with the Tung Sahur.

As it stands right now, Noxa’s agency feels that the situation “isn’t fair” for its partners, who have acquired its licence in all fairness. Even though copyrighting AI-generated content remains uncharted territory, Mementum Lab argues that the true authorship lies in the prompt and the creative vision behind it.

Other Roblox titles like Brainrot Evolution and a few others have also removed Tung Tung Tung Sahur from their titles, anticipating legal action toward them from the agency.

Will Tung Tung Tung Sahur return to Steal a Brainrot?

While Tung Tung Tung Sahur is unlikely to return to Steal a Brainrot, an alternate character called Te Te Te Sahur is featured in the game. Unlike Tung Sahur—depicted with a blank expression and a baseball bat in hand—Te Sahur takes the form of a kettle, though it shares the same brown color.

Apart from Tung Tung Tung Sahur, Noxa also holds rights to multiple other Brainrot characters like Brr Es Teh Patipum, Garamararam, and others, so the agency could come for these characters in the future and strike a deal with the developer.

One of the key reasons Steal a Brainrot blew up in Fortnite and Roblox was its iconic characters, so if the agency pushes for a deal or pressures developers to remove them, it could be a major factor in the games losing popularity.
