Douyin is arguably one of the more difficult themes in Dress to Impress, so you might not know where to start if it pops up as the category of your next fashion show.
Douyin is generally described as the Chinese version of TikTok, and like our popular short-form video app, it helps spread all kinds of trends in fashion and more. I usually associate the term “Douyin” with makeup involving spiky eyelashes, sparkly eyeshadows, and pigmented blush, but it also extends to pretty and trendy outfit styles that started in China.
Here are a few Douyin-inspired outfits you can try in Dress to Impress.

When you look at Douyin fashion, it’s a lot of pinks and neutrals or black and white. Common trends include frilly or pleated skirts, long socks or leg warmers, chunky shoes, and cute hair accessories. We’ve put together two outfits for you to use or build on the next time the Douyin theme appears in your game.
1) Classic pink
You can never go wrong with a pink fit when it comes to Douyin fashion. This look leans on the cuter and softer end with frills, ruffles, and bows. On top, we have an off-white corset layered over the tee with a tiny bow. Ideally, we’d wear an oversized, open sweater, but that type of item currently isn’t available, so I improvised with a pink leather jacket (obtainable with a code) and sleeves from the men’s hoodie.
The extra sleeves and off-the-shoulder pose give the jacket a more oversized look. On the bottom, I went with a pink frilly skirt, leg warmers, and brown boots.
Hair accessories are also rather limited in Dress to Impress, but adding braids and a pink bow is a nice touch to complete the look. And if you have access to custom makeup, aim for sparkly eyeshadow and not-so-subtle blush.
Feel free to play around with the colors, using other shades of pink or light neutral tones.
2) Black and white
If you’re not feeling pink, try this black and white Douyin outfit. It still keeps some aspects from the previous fit, such as the leg warmers and bows for that cute charm, but also has a few key differences.
The top features a corset with a dark ribbon pattern over a crop top with frills at the end of each sleeve. Meanwhile, the bottom has a combination of three skirts. The pleated skirt with the belt is common in Douyin fashion, and the two other skirts are optional but they add more frills and tiers.
And although these skirts go hand in hand with Douyin outfits, don’t feel like you’re restricted to wearing them for this theme. For an alternative to skirts and leg warmers, go with black baggy jeans and pair them with a belt and chunky sneakers or boots. The baggy jeans give a cooler vibe rather than cute and cozy, so it just depends on your preference.
For accessories, a nice black bag works well here with another bow in your hair. Personally, I’d love to see some hair clips and other hair accessories introduced in future Dress to Impress updates to add to the Douyin style.
