Among the LCK’s current top teams, KSV looked the worst prior to the league’s Lunar New Year break last week. On a two-game loss streak, KSV’s play looked disjointed with a disconnect between its players. Now back from their one week holiday, KSV’s struggles continued as they faced KT.

Although KSV continued to be proactive in their play, but the team faltered in their execution. “For KSV it feels like another game where everyone is on different wavelengths,” LCK caster Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith said near the end of game one of this best-of-three series. “They haven’t been able to stick the landing on their setups”.

KT on the other hand played out their win conditions almost flawlessly in both games. Although they didn’t find any flashy early aces, KT slowly took full control of Summoner’s Rift and the resources it held. From Dragons, to turrets, and even the Baron, KT seemingly took all these objectives uncontested due to their total control of map vision.

Whenever KSV dared to try and strike back, KT easily swatted their opponents back with a kill or two as a reward. KT AD carry Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu, who celebrated his five year anniversary of his LCK debut tonight, had an outstanding performance. Deft’s ability to find late game picks gave KT the final push needed to close out this series.

With their win tonight against KSV, KT move up to second place in the LCK standings just under KINGZONE DragonX. KT return to the LCK on Feb. 25, when they face Jin Air Green Wings.
