GTA Online’s success is unprecedented, with a decade of content providing hundreds of hours worth of entertainment. Making money here is crucial, and this is where businesses come in, although some are more useful than the others.
Businesses in GTA Online have expanded significantly since the servers first went live on the game, now offering plenty of ways to make money. While it may seem like the newest business is always the best way to get some cool cash, that’s not actually true.
If you’re mulling over what business to pump cash into in GTA Online for some huge returns, we’ve got the lowdown you need.

Best GTA Online businesses to purchase
10) Arcade

The Arcade in GTA Online won’t make you a millionaire overnight, but it does open plenty of doors. Firstly, it’s required to unlock The Diamond Casino Heist—with three different approaches, increasing the replayability. It’s my favorite heist in the game.
It’s not all about the heists though, with the Master Terminal also available to purchase. With this, you can stock up all your other businesses from a single location, making management much easier, and is a must-have if you’ve got a lot of businesses that you’re struggling to keep track of.
Finally, and perhaps the most overlooked benefit of the Arcade, is the passive income. Every day, money is added to your safe in your Arcade. Although it won’t break the bank, it’s still a good way to earn money without much effort.
9) Cocaine Lockup
Of all the Motorcycle Club lockup businesses, the Cocaine Lockup comes in triumphant. When fully stocked, a full haul of inventory sells for over half a million, and it’s largely single-player friendly, so you won’t have to recruit anyone.
A downside, however, is that Motorcycle Club businesses can be raided by AI enemies. If this catches you at the wrong time, and it takes you a while to travel there to fend them off, a huge amount of potential money is lost in the blink of an eye.
8) Salvage Yard
Robberies from the Salvage Yard are a solid source of income, with a few setups and a final mission to steal a vehicle, which can then be used for parts, sold, or kept yourself, depending on the vehicle. While these have a significant payout, it’s the passive income that is key with the Salvage Yard.
Once the optional tow truck has been purchased, small missions to collect abandoned vehicles and return them to the Salvage Yard become available. These pay small amounts but, more importantly, unlocks passive income of around $25,000 a day.
While not eye-watering amounts of money, it soon stacks up—especially if paired with other businesses that offer a steady supply of cash passively.
7) Hangar

The Hangar was previously seen as one of the worst businesses in GTA Online, but following some much-needed changes, it now stands as one of the most profitable avenues—especially as it’s single-player friendly.
A full hangar of one type of stock nets a bonus, paying upwards of two million, and the entire operation is single-player friendly—just make sure you select to sell by land if you opt for this route, as the air sales can be brutal.
The downside, however, is the grind. To fully restock the hangar, it takes around six to seven hours of grinding, and if you’re going for a full hangar of the same stock for the bonus, the stock missions get repetitive quickly.
6) Bunker
The downsides of the bunker are the expensive up-front cost and some of the sell missions not being solo friendly, but these are far outweighed by the positives, as the bunker provides a huge amount of income.
A full bunker sells of over $1.2 million, earning a significant paycheck, though you may be given four vehicles. Still, with 45 minutes to complete the sale, it’s possible to do it all on your own if you’re efficient—although I’d recommend at least one more player to be on the safe side.
Another bonus is the ability to sell excess weapon parks to Ammu-nation every 48 minutes, providing a quick and easy $50,000.
5) Auto Shop

The Auto Shop is one of the most enjoyable businesses in GTA Online as it largely ticks by on it’s own without much attention, although there’s the opportunity to earn big bucks if you complete the contract missions that are available.
Periodically, customers will leave cars in your Auto Shop to customize, which you can then deliver yourself or assign a worker to deliver them. If you have two vehicle slots unlocked, the timer for a potential customer arrival is shortened, and each delivery provides upwards of $30,000.
Another benefit is the Exotic Exports car list, updated daily, which provides 10 vehicles to deliver to the dock. Each vehicle nets $20,000, with a bonus for completing the full list, so keep your eyes peeled for blue dots on the map.
4) Kosatka Submarine
The Kosatka Submarine isn’t a business per se, as it doesn’t provide passive income or resupply missions, but you need a Motorcycle Club to purchase one, so we’ve added it here—especially as it opens the door to some big bucks.
Owning a Kosatka Submarine unlocks the Cayo Perico heist, the quickest and most profitable heist in the game. Every time you do the heist, the loot itself is randomized, with some heists bringing in higher amounts than others.
Plus, you get to flex on any public lobbies you’re in as you own a fully weaponized behemoth.
3) Agency
Boasting gameplay features unmatched by anything else, the Agency is worth picking up for enjoyment factor alone. But once you consider the cash income provided by this business, it surges towards the top of the must-have list.
The big earner is the Dr. Dre heist, which can be completed solo in just over an hour, netting a million dollars every time. On top of this, security contracts take around five minutes and can pay up to $70,000. Every five contracts, the maximum daily passive payout boosts by $500, up to a maximum of $25,000 daily.
Owning an Agency also unlocks new vehicle and weapon upgrades, with discounted rates on the latter, which is a huge boost to any other business you own too.
2) Nightclub

If you want to earn a shedload of money with very little effort, the Nightclub is the best route to go down. Although it’s expensive, the Nightclub provides passive income on a daily basis, which can be up to $100,000 when you book expensive DJs—but that’s not necessary.
By keeping your Nightclub popularity high, done by completing small missions and kicking troublemakers out, the daily total sits at $50,000—a decent amount to tick over. But the real money maker is hidden away from prying eyes.
A Nightclub also has room for huge amounts of stock to sell, all of which is collected passively by workers. With up to five workers, stock supplies are constant, though you need to switch things around if you want a bit of everything, as there are seven types of stock.
Completing special orders for specific stock yields high bonuses but is largely unnecessary, unless you’re particularly keen, as the sale missions still provide a huge influx of cash.
1) Acid Lab
The Acid Lab is without a doubt the best business currently available in GTA Online, with huge payouts and only one vehicle required for sale missions. Therefore, it’s the best business to grind through if you’re playing without friends.
The ability to own an Acid Lab unlocks after completing six missions with Dax, each of which provides a hefty payout on their own with the added bonus of a cool $250,000 once all are completed. From there, there are additional missions to complete if you want.
The Acid Lab is the big money maker though, raking in over $500,000 when completely full. Keeping it topped up with supplies is crucial, but you can call Mutt on your phone whenever required and can pay to source them rather than completing missions, so you can speed up the process.
