Rockstar dropped the second trailer for GTA 6 on a random Tuesday, and it has already surpassed 89 million views on YouTube. It’s a strong mix of cinematics, largely focused on the game’s lead couple, Jason and Lucia.
While most of the trailer highlights narrative moments between the two, showcases Vice City in its incredible detail, and teases some of the wild action we’ll experience, there are a few details you probably missed in GTA 6’s second trailer.
That’s Stephen Root—I’m 99.99% sure
I’m pretty confident that Stephen Root, the man behind so many iconic roles like Milton Waddams from Office Space, Bill Dauterive from King of the Hill, and more recently, Monroe Fuches in Barry, is in GTA 6.

To say his voice is recognizable would be an understatement. He’s the first real person you see and hear in the second trailer, playing Brian Heder, who appears to be Jason’s landlord and criminal associate in typical GTA fashion.
All these shots are likely gameplay
GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 have in-game options that can ditch the conventional camera for a far more cinematic experience. Rockstar has confirmed that the new trailer is equal parts cinematics and gameplay.
So, at least half of what we saw is gameplay, but displayed with either a very specific camera to make it flow well with the rest of the trailer, or there is a far more advanced cinematic camera to recreate these shots. Here are a few shots from the trailer I think are gameplay, just presented differently from a conventional camera.

San Andreas activities make a return
Obviously, this hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the trailer features two very memorable sequences that harken back to GTA: San Andreas and a few of its systems. Particularly two shots, one where Jason is bench pressing, and another where Lucia is performing a karate or kickboxing move.

If you remember, GTA: San Andreas featured a gym system where players could spend time building muscle and sculpting the perfect polygon body for CJ. Similarly, CJ could train at the dojo and learn karate. Both systems were fairly basic, but I always missed them in later entries. I hope the moments shown in the trailer are clear hints that these features are making a return.
First potential look at dynamic robberies?
Back when GTA 6 suffered a major leak, there were hints of dynamic and fully fleshed-out robberies. The trailer shows a glimpse of that, with Jason entering a store holding a baseball bat, slapping the cashier, and then taking cash from the register in the next shot, while the cashier lies on the floor.

Store robberies aren’t new in Rockstar games. Previous GTA titles and Red Dead Redemption 2 have featured their own versions, but it seems GTA 6 aims to take things to the next level by adding a new layer of dynamism. NPCs in the area may now react more realistically depending on your approach. The example shown in the trailer suggests a more restrained robbery, with no firearms in sight, which is usually required in GTA V and RDR2.
Please let us pet the cat, Rockstar!
Red Dead Redemption 2 features the widest variety of animals in any open-world game, and I have a feeling GTA 6 aims to build on that even further. Florida has plenty of gators, but we also saw a cat in the trailer.

Red Dead Redemption 2 had several types of cats too, but you couldn’t directly pet them, unlike dogs, which you could not only pet but also befriend. This cat, however, is perfectly positioned for petting. It would be cruel of Rockstar not to let us pet cats this time.
These were the few things I was able to spot in the second trailer of GTA 6 that you probably won’t see in the hundred other breakdown videos.
