MVP Black are unquestionably one of the best Heroes of the Storm sides in the world, with two international titles to their name. But now the team is signing one of Korea’s most controversial players in a move will likely raise the ire some fans.

Lee Jae “Oreoman” Won is regarded as one of the most mechanically gifted players in the Korean scene, equally adept at playing in the assassin, flex, and tank roles during his time on Team Snake KR. Unfortunately, the player has also been a lightning rod for criticism, which will undoubtedly follow him to his new team. Won will be replacing Jin Jae “Lockdown” Hun in the flex position for MVP Black.

Won’s toxic behavior, and the fact he’s exploited game bugs for competitive advantage, have long been a source of controversy, and even resulted in Snake’s disqualified from the Heroes Team League in April last year.

In October, fans discovered that Won was an active member of discussion forum Ilbe Storage—a site many have described as the Korean equivalent of 4chan. The site is generally regarded as an extremely right wing discussion site that has also carried out DDoS attacks and other cyber attacks and harassment on sites it disapproves of. This scandal caused Won to leave Team Snake.

After competing as a late substitute for Asia Stardust at the World Cyber Arena last month, Won claimed that the tournament would be his last and that he would not return to Heroes. That apparently changed when MVP Black came calling.
