In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, like in any good survival game, progression is steady and tied to exploration. The farther you venture, the more workstations and materials you will need to craft advanced items. One of these materials is Wool Thread, an essential resource for crafting armor sets, weapons, and new workstations.
Here is how you can craft Wool Thread easily in RuneScape Dragonwilds and locate the required ingredients for it.
Crafting Wool Thread in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Wool Thread is a material that can be crafted at the spinning wheel after you have acquired either of the following items:
Resource | Where to find |
---|---|
Fleece | Fleece is dropped by sheep and rams. |
Soft Animal Fur | Soft Animal Fur is dropped by wolves. |

Both of these animal types can be found in the Fractured Plains, which you will naturally visit as you progress through the campaign missions.

You can technically make a run for it early on and reach this area, but I recommend getting there when the game wants you to, because there are plenty of tough enemies in that area. Additionally, some of the structures that require Wool Thread won’t be available for a while anyway.
Once you have either type of material, simply approach the spinning wheel in your base camp. One piece of Fleece can be spun into one Wool Thread. I recommend collecting Fleece over Soft Animal Fur, because sheep aren’t hostile and level one creatures that can’t even run off well. Rams and wolves can be a bit annoying to take on, but hunting sheep is the easiest way to grind for Fleece.

What to do with Wool Thread in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Wool Thread is one of the core materials required to build the Loom, which allows you to craft cloth. You need the following items to build a loom in RuneScape Dragonwilds:
Structure | Materials required |
---|---|
Loom | 22x Ash Planks 4x Bronze Bars 6x Wool Thread |
Once crafted, you can craft both rough and wool cloth using different types of threads crafted at the spinning wheel.
Cloth Type | Materials required |
---|---|
Rough cloth | 3x Coarse Thread |
Wool cloth | 3x Wool Thread |
You can also make a few different decorations using Wool Thread as well.

I wouldn’t go overboard with these decorations early on because your Wool Thread is better used elsewhere.
