After a disappointing season that saw the team place seventh, just above the relegation slots, top-laner Mike “Wickd” Petersen and jungler Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema are also exploring options elsewhere, according to a source close to the team. Both players, along with Larsson, have grown increasingly disillusioned with the team and don’t feel that the current roster can match their expectations. He added that the team will rebuild around the remaining two players in the organization, Henrik “Froggen” Hansen and Mitch “Krepo” Voorspoels.

“Right now, the playing environment is depressing for everyone,” he said. “You have Froggen and Krepo on one side and these guys on the other. They both want very different things for the team but it’s Froggen who calls the shots.”

It’s highly unlikely that the trio will end up playing together if they do leave.  The search for their replacements, however, is already resolved—for the most part. Former AD Carry Erik “Tabzz” van Helvert is all but confirmed to return to the team that ousted him in favor of Larsson in the off-season. Replacing Hartsema in the jungle will most likely be former Lemondogs and CLG jungler Marcel “dexter” Feldkamp, who has been out of action since leaving the North American team in October 2014.

Whatever the outcome for the team, the Elements that fans know appears to be over—barring a drastic last minute intervention. It’s a sad end for a team that once wrote “we will only truly achieve greatness once we all come together” in its now legendary launch announcement on Facebook.
