After being officially delayed earlier in the week, Crackdown 3 got a new trailer during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. Terry Crews was featured prominently in the new trailer, wreaking havoc across the in-game map as the new release date was reaffirmed.
Unfortunately, there weren’t any further details discussed about the delayed title during Microsoft’s rapid-fire showing of the 50 games it promised ahead of the show getting underway.
Strangely absent from the trailer was some of the destruction we’d been promised with previous announcements regarding the game, but we’ll likely learn more about this in the coming months.
Crackdown 3 was announced at E3 in 2014 as an Xbox One exclusive. The game has had a tumultuous development period with multiple delays—since it’s announcement, the game has been promised for 2016, 2017, and 2018. The official release date is now scheduled for February 2018.

“Our fans’ response to the signature antics and explosive gameplay of Crackdown 3 has been incredible,” Microsoft told Windows Central earlier in the week. “To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, Crackdown 3 will be launching in February 2019.”
The Microsoft open-world shooter will keep Crackdown and Crackdown 2’s core gameplay. It’s said to be set 10 years after Crackdown 2 following a terrorist attack that wiped power out worldwide.
