Battlefield 2025 beta start date

Prepare for a new Battlefield.

Rumors and rumblings of a new Battlefield game have been solidified by EA as the company has announced public playtesting in 2025 for a new Battlefield title—so let’s check the latest regarding the beta.

The last few Battlefield titles arguably haven’t set the world alight. Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 leaned into the overdone World War aesthetic, whereas Battlefield 2042 launched to a mixed reception at best—bugs, issues, and a lack of content are the main sticking points. Recent news, however, indicated the series is heading back for a contemporary setting.

Now, EA is looking ahead to the next entry in the long-running war shooter franchise. The untitled Battlefield 2025 exists, playtesting is coming, and we’re all hoping the franchise returns explosively.

Right now, we know for sure the 2025 Battlefield beta playtest is arriving early in 2025, but we don’t know the exact date, and the developer has also not disclosed if this is an alpha or beta testing phase.

During the “Electronic Arts – Investor Day 2024” livestream on YouTube, Byron Beede—Group GM for Battlefield—explained they have four studios currently working on content for a new “modern-day” Battlefield title: DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect.

He also added that (internally at EA) they’ve “been playing the game nearly daily for well over a year” and they plan to “introduce a large-scale community-testing program early next year.” Beede stressed the team is working hard to embrace feedback to allow them to keep improving Battlefield and make it great.

Keep checking back to this guide as we learn more about Battlefield 2025 (although it probably isn’t launching next year) and see if EA provides further details on the shooter’s setting, game modes, or any basic beta information.
