The Pokémon Company International has released information about the dates, location and prize pool surrounding the biggest Pokémon event of the year. The 2017 Pokémon World Championships will take place from Aug. 18-20 in Anaheim, California, and will feature a $500,000 prize pool.

The event will host players from around the world who won regionals in multiple games. Trainers will compete in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, Pokkén Tournament and Pokémon Trading Card Game tournaments all for a chance to win $500,000 worth of prizes and to be crowned a 2017 Pokémon World Champion.

Last year, the 2016 Pokémon World Championships were held in San Francisco, California, so Pokémon players will be traveling to the golden state once again. The 2016 Pokémon World Championships also featured a $500,000 prize pool, and took place from Aug. 19-21, so there seems to be a lot of similarities between these tournaments.
