"What am I playing?"

Top Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek played Fortnite: Battle Royale for the first time in months during a livestream last night—and he didn’t hold back his criticism toward the current state of the game.

“Somehow PUBG runs better than this game right now,” shroud said during a Fortnite match, astonished with the game’s performance on PC. “I don’t really know how that happened.” Since PUBG’s minimum and recommended system requirements on PC are much higher than Fortnite’s, the opposite is what should happen.

During another match, shroud got in The Baller and started moving around the map. “What am I playing?,” he said. “This is what these people are playing. This is the Fortnite World Cup. These items have to be removed, right?” He also said that the item “a goddamn joke.”

Shroud’s criticism toward The Baller aligns with the competitive Fortnite community’s concerns about the vehicle being too strong in the late game—it allows bad players to stay protected long enough to get points for surviving during tournaments.

Shroud’s reaction to the state of Fortnite was negative, but most comments were from a competitive perspective. He played competitive Counter-Strike for a long time and competed in a few Apex Legends tournaments recently, so it’s only natural for his takes to focus on how competitive-ready a game is.

Shroud has been playing several first-person shooters and battle royale games during his livestream, mostly Escape from Tarkov, Apex, and PUBG. His Fortnite stream last night was an unusual addition to the list of games he plays, but even so, he experimented with the new Avengers Limited Time Mode, Endgame, and played a few standard matches as well.

Dot Esports has reached out to the streamer for comment about the inclusion of Fortnite in his streaming schedule.
