Fortnite: Battle Royale fans are in for a real treat. Epic Games’ latest addition to the hit multiplayer game are Toys, letting players goof around with their friends or taunt their opponents with basketballs, golf balls, and more.

Toys work similarly to Emotes in Fortnite, and while they aren’t necessarily deadly, they’re incredibly fun to use during play. Some challenges even require a game of hoops instead of a game of death. Here’s every single Toy that players can earn in Fortnite, as well as how they work.

What are Toys and how do they work?

Toys are Emote props that players can earn and equip while playing Fortnite: Battle Royale. At the moment, Toys can only be earned by owning a Season 5 Battle Pass. They’re mostly sports equipment, like basketballs. However, Toys come in varying rarities, and players can earn a fancier alternate version to a basic Toy by leveling up their Battle Pass tiers.

Like Emotes, players can only use Toys by equipping them at the Locker. Fortnite users can then run over to specific areas across the game’s map and play games with their Toys. Over at Lazy Links, for example, players can equip the Golf Ball Toy and sink some tin cups across various courses. Meanwhile, Battle Pass owners with the Basketball Toy can head over to Tilted Towers’ basketball court and shoot some hoops. Landing a hole in golf or scoring a hoop in basketball will show up in the match’s kill feed, announcing to the world your amazing athletic skills.

Since their inception, players have asked whether Toys can be used to kill other Fortnite players. Unfortunately, they cannot. Unlike Wes Craven’s Deadly Friend you cannot kill anyone with a basketball. Toys are purely a cosmetic addition intended for a little bit of mid-game fun. No need to yell fore at your squadmates.
