The latest update in Fortnite kicked off the sixth season of the popular battle royale game. Each new season generally introduces a handful of changes to the iconic Fortnite map—and today’s update was no different.
Although there certainly weren’t as many changes as some fans were expecting, the map is slightly different in season six.
The most noticeable change when looking at the map is that the main island in the middle of Loot Lake is now floating thanks to the giant purple cube.

Other changes include the areas in which the cube created gravity fields and runes. These seven spots are now known as Corrupted Areas, and they feature the new Shadow Stones that have been introduced to the game.
Haunted Castle was added to the map, and it’s located on top of a hill east of Haunted Hills.
Several new log cabins have also been discovered in Wailing Woods. And the middle of the maze in Wailing Woods now has an elaborate underground bunker.
Finally, the corn in Fatal Fields has started to grow at the beginning of the fall season.
This article will be updated with further changes as they’re discovered.
