Escape from Tarkov: Energy Crisis quest guide

Watch out for machine gunners!

The Energy Crisis quest in Escape from Tarkov can get a little complicated, especially since players are tasked with finding and “marking” three fuel trucks without a map. To make matters worse, the Lighthouse is such a daunting map that locating these trucks is like finding needles in a haystack.

How to complete the Energy Crisis quest in Escape from Tarkov

To successfully complete the Energy Crisis quest in Escape from Tarkov, you must cross off four objectives:

  • Locate and mark a group of fuel tanks with an MS2000 Marker at the Lighthouse.
  • Find and mark the first tanker truck with an MS2000 Marker at Lighthouse.
  • Locate and mark the second tanker truck with an MS2000 Marker at Lighthouse.
  • Find and mark the third tanker truck with an MS2000 Marker at the Lighthouse.

Escape from Tarkov’s addition of the Lighthouse location in patch 0.12.12 introduced a new map that is just as visually stunning as it is exciting to play on. However, the Water Treatment Plant is overrun by Rogues, so completing the Energy Crisis quest is no small feat. In order to complete the quest, you will need four MS2000 Markers.

Below are the locations of the three tanker trucks you’ll need to mark:

  1. The first fuel trucks can be found near the tanks with the word “ОГНЕОПАСНО” written on them. Be sure to mark the truck before proceeding.
  2. Be cautious when approaching the second truck, which is situated next to Building “3” inside the Water Treatment Plant, as there are machine gunners guarding the area.
  3. Finally, the third tanker truck is parked right in the middle of the intersection, outside the southeast entrance of the Water Treatment Plant.

Once every truck is marked, you can head to the extraction point and the Energy Crisis quest will end.

Upon successful completion of the Energy Crisis quest, you’ll receive the following rewards:

  • 13,000 EXP
  • Mechanic Rep +0.02
  • 75,000 Roubles
    • 78,750 Roubles with Intelligence center Level One
    • 86,250 Roubles with Intelligence center Level Two
  • Unlocks barter for FN SCAR-L 5.56×45 assault rifle (variant Contract Wars) at Mechanic loyalty level three
  • Unlocks purchase of Tromix Monster Claw 12ga muzzle brake at Mechanic loyalty level three

If you run out of Markers for any reason or just want to carry a few extras just in case, you can buy more from Prapor or Ragman. It also might be worth keeping the MS2000 Markers in their special slots or in your pouch to prevent them being lost upon death.
