This is the last stop before EWC and TI.

PGL Wallachia season five is set to be the last pit stop before the Dota 2 pro season reaches its peak with the EWC 2025, followed by The International 14. This tournament will be the last chance for all the top teams to get some practice in against the very best before squaring off against them on the biggest stages of the season.

Featuring a prize pool of $1,000,000, PGL Wallachia S5 gives the teams everything to fight for. Additionally, securing a good position in this tournament could secure a spot in the next season, scheduled for later in November. Given that we are only days away from kicking off the championship, it is certain that the matches will be played on Patch 7.39b or a future subpatch of update 7.39.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Dota 2 PGL Wallachia season five championship.

Dota 2 PGL Wallachia Season 5 schedule and format

PGL Wallachia season five is split into two parts, and while The International 2025 is set to feature three phases, the first and last parts of both these Dota 2 tournaments are quite similar. To kick things off, we will be treated to a Swiss-system group stage, played over five rounds. The top eight teams that secure three wins in this round will advance to the playoffs, while the remaining teams will be eliminated.

The fixtures for the group stages will be decided based on the results after each matchday. We will update them as the tournament unfolds, so please check back after each day’s matches.

Given that this is the last major tournament before EWC 2025 and The International’s return to Germany for the first time since the inaugural edition, it will be safe to expect all the teams to put up their best performance to gain momentum during the business end of the Dota 2 pro season.
