How to get the Shard of Verathiel in Diablo 4

The Shard of Verathiel is a Unique weapon in Diablo 4 that can be used by any class and provides a huge boost to Basic Skills. With this sword equipped, Basic Skills deal 50-200 percent increased damage but cost 25 Primary Resource.

Where to get the Shard of Verathiel in Diablo 4

Similarly to other Uniques in Diablo 4, the Shard of Verathiel is not a guaranteed drop and occurs randomly through RNG. There is a specific mode in the game that offers this reward, however.

Infernal Hordes are currently the best way to get the Shard of Verathiel in Diablo 4. As shown in the loot table, the Unique is one of the 15 new items introduced in season five with a higher drop rate in Infernal Hordes.

To unlock Infernal Hordes, move to World Tier 3 and complete the Eyes of the Enemy quest. The quest provides an Infernal Compass, which is required to access Infernal Hordes, and a fresh one is needed for each run.

Additional Infernal Compasses can drop from endgame activities like Nightmare Dungeons, Helltide chests, and Tree of Whispers caches. Infernal Compasses can also be crafted at the Occultist in exchange for Sigil Powder and Forgotten Souls.
